WHERE IS THE FEST?
If you have never been to Prototype Collective before, here are a couple things to know:
- TO GET TO THE FEST: Please try and carpool or otherwise use public transportation. or ride-shares to get to and from the fest. You can park at any Park & Ride station on the RTA Red Line (which goes directly to and from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport if you are flying in) and take any Red Line RTA train (link to PDF for train schedule) to the West Blvd-Cudell Station and it is less than a block away. A non-PDF link to the schedule for the train is here.
- The Red Line runs from the airport West to East with the last stop being the Stokes-Windermere Station in East Cleveland, and vice-versa. Fares begin at $2.50 per trip, but you can buy a day pass for $5, along with many other options. The last Eastbound train on Saturdays departs the West Blvd-Cudell Station at 1:39 AM. The last Westbound train on Saturdays departs the West Blvd-Cudell Station at 12:52 AM.
- DO NOT PARK BEHIND THE BUILDING. That space is reserved, you will get towed.
- If parking nearby, please do so at the West Blvd-Cudell RTA Station, which is on the north side of Detroit Ave, near the intersection of West Blvd, Cudell Ave and W 101st Street, or use street parking on Detroit Ave or West Blvd.
- Enter the building from the back door. Show is on the 5th Floor and is accessible by stairs. The fest Instagram will have a video and photo guide to accessing the venue soon. If you are not able to walk up stairs or have other mobility/accessibility issues, contact us and we will arrange for you to use an elevator that is not available to the general public.
- Absolutely no graffiti, littering, outside drinking, or any other generally stupid behavior in the nearby neighborhood will be tolerated. Absolutely no behavior that infringes upon the health, safety, and dignity of others will be tolerated. Respect those around you. You will be ejected from the fest area immediately if you disrespect the neighborhood or our community and compromise the safety and sustainability of this space with the surrounding families.
F.L.A.W. is my vision of the potential for a DIY event in general and a celebration of noise more specifically. If you don't like how things are, you are welcome to book your own noise fest some other day and time. That's exactly what I did, and I'm no better or worse than you.
WHEN DOES THE FEST START & END?
Doors will open at 7:30 PM on Friday 10/11/2024, sets will begin at 8:00 PM, and we will end the show by 12:00 AM.
Doors will open at 2:30 PM on Saturday 10/12/2024, sets will begin at 3:00 PM, and we will end the show by 12:00 AM.
On Satuday there will be 5 blocks of 4 acts, with 5-10 minute breaks between acts, and a 20 minute break between blocks. Plenty of time to stretch your legs, go outside, go to the bathroom, and socialize with fellow noise maniacs!
WHERE CAN I STAY?
Bottled water will be free and available to all.
We will be making a few runs to Ohio Pie Co. for pizzas, and there will also be other drinks & snacks available for donation.
We ask that you respectfully only order and/or bring food inside the event that is vegan. You are welcome to eat non-vegan food outside of the venue. If you're unhappy with this request, imagine how those who are the victims of systematic oppression and murder must feel! 😅
You may Bring Your Own Beverages but you will be carded if you are bringing alcohol and we ask that you drink safely and responsibly.
There will be a designated area for smoking/vaping. We ask that any non-tobacco usage be done safely and discreetly somewhere outside of the venue.
